The password dialog now indicates the name of the permission being checked for clarity.
The conversion script was fixed: posterior composites were being set to RCT graphic type. Existing users of version 2 can easily change this in the procedure code edit.
When translating, you can now delete your translated phrase to revert to English.
Appointment module timebar code refined slighly, and option available to disable it temporarily for testing.

2.0.3 Released 12/11/03

Prevents appointments from displaying if operatory is hidden.
Enhancement: allows override to edit procedures attached to claims.
Lets you choose whether an autocode overrides existing code or not when closing procedure edit window.
Fixes a display bug that sometimes happened after deleting a Referral for a patient.
In Practice setup-When the Autorefresh was unchecked, it would not be saved. You should uncheck it now.
Patient report window is shorter now and better organized.
Main program icon was missing.

2.0.2 Released 12/7/03
Stable beta version which is being used in some offices with real patient data.

2.0.1 Released 11/29/03
First alpha release of version 2.
Extensive changes throughout. The major changes were:
Graphical tooth chart
Procedure buttons in Chart module: The procedure buttons are shortcuts to entering procedures in the Chart module. Version 1.0 came with preloaded codes instead of letting you select your own codes. The buttons are now customizable.
AutoCodes: The program automatically selects the correct procedure code based on the number of surfaces, location in mouth, pontic v retainer, etc. In version 1.0, this functionality was not customizable. The improvements give you total control over all AutoCodes. Also better validation of tooth numbers and surfaces.
Mouse wheel: Enabled for scrolling.
Creation of a Main Menu: Elimination of the Tools module. It is replaced by a main menu (drop down) which shows at the top of the main DentOffice window. This is a more traditional way of accessing tools, and if it is done right, it should not increase the number of clicks needed to access functions. Along the same lines, buttons across the tops of various windows are slowly being reworked into a more traditional toolbar layout.
Medicaid ID: For patients with medicaid, at least you can now enter their medicaid number. You can also enter the Medicaid ID for providers. Unfortunately, this is only a first step, and still does not currently permit submission of claims which would require this number.
Patient Address Features: Automatic telephone number formatting. City and State entry when you enter the Zipcode. Easily synchronize addresses for all family members.
Referrals: Including reporting functions for letter merge.
Treatment Plan changes: Include ADA code, and order by tooth number.
Update Fees: If your fees have changed, or if you change the fee schedule for a patient, you can push a button in Treatment Plan module to update all planned procedures for the current patient.
Schedule: The inability to change the office schedule by specific date was a major defect in version 1.0. The default schedule is now supplemented by an office schedule by date including setting holidays.
Insurance pretreatment estimate. Version 1.0 required filling out preauthorizations by hand. The new preauthorizations can either be printed, or (soon) sent electronically.
Sending Insurance Claims: Improvements to the layout of the claims waiting to be sent (no longer in the Tools module, either), including the ability to double click on a claim to view the procedures, note, etc.
Recall: Reporting feature from within the recall list.
30-60-90 Aging improvements: In Version 1.0, aging is only calculated when running the aging report. The improvements store the aging permanently in the patient table for viewing in the Account module, faster reporting, and for use in multiple reports.
Finance Charge Automation: Finance charges can be run automatically based on the age of each account. Includes a finance charge report.
Billing Automation: Batch statement processing is a utility that you can run to generate a list of patients on the screen who have balances. You can then print all or some of the statements from there without ever having to open their individual Accounts.
Miscellaneous:
The dynamic refresh can now be disabled for troubleshooting.
You can now set the title of the main window.
Entering payments is now simplified. You no longer have to enter splits.
Makes an entry in the account every time a statement is sent.
Medical History: Larger Medical History area in addition to the summary. This allows all the current medical info to be available, not just the summary. Will later be enhanced to include a questionaire for faster entry and a mechanism for logging changes as dated entries.
Users and Passwords: Employees and providers are able to have usernames, passwords, and permissions for specific DentOffice functions. Without the appropriate permission, a user can not access that function. Among the many permissions available are Procedure Edit, Adjustment Edit, Payment Edit, and Claim Edit. These can all be set to not allow users to make changes to older entries using any date or interval of days you specify. You can use this feature to lock out (or "close") each month, each day, or or any other time interval if you wish. Passwords are important because they help prevent employee embezzlement and inadvertant damage to records.
Language Support: Foreign language support is built into DentOffice. A translation tool is now part of the program, and all text is available for translation. This version supports all Latin-based languages. A later release will provide support for Asian languages and multiple cultures using a single language.
