In the Main Menu, under File, select Scanner to bring up the following window:
This allows you to set the compression for JPEG images when scanning into the Images module. There are three types of scanning functions, and you can select a different compression setting for each. The recommended setting is shown in bold. But, if you find your images difficult to see even after zooming in, you could adjust the compression or dpi to achieve the best results with the smallest file size possible.
