Canada Procedure Code Time Units

For Canada, procedures that use scaling units can have a time unit value can be entered. All procedure codes default to 1 time unit unless specified as different in their description, but you can also add or edit as needed. You can also view an insurance plan's total, used, and remaining time units by benefit category in the Treatment Plan Module or Billing Module.

Note: When you update to version 15.4 or greater, new time unit values will update for procedure codes that already exist. We recommend updating CDA codes first, then Update.

For time units to be calculated correctly, the following needs to occur:

Enter time units for procedures on the Procedure Code (Lists, Procedure Codes).

View an insurance plan's total, used, and remaining time units by benefit category in the Treatment Plan or Billing Module.

In the Treatment Plan module, click Ins Rem above the remaining insurance information.

In the Billing Module, click the Ins Rem box in the Aging area.

A new window will open showing the total, used, and remaining time units for each procedure code category that has a benefit.
