MySQL is a very stable database. But unfortunately, we had been using version 4.0.12, which had a bug that we were unaware of. That version of MySQL is the cause of the occasional corruption issue as described on Corruption page. We are now upgrading everyone to MySQL version 4.1.10, and we expect this issue to finally be resolved.
Step 1: Upgrade your version of DentOffice to at least 3.4.17.
Step 2: Run this program: www.open-dent.com/TrialDownload-3.4.24.exe. (Select "Open" when given a choice).
After downloading, the following window will come up:
Select Unzip to save the files to the given location and to automatically run the installation program. If, for some reason, you need to run in again later, a copy will be on your harddrive at the specified location.
At the top of the window, select Update MySQL Only. Then click Install and follow the instructions.
